Entertainment publicist Phil Lobel dreamt of becoming a journalist. A Leon Russell concert changed all that, and the rest, as they say, is history.
During his freshman year in 1974 at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Phil attended a Leon Russell concert. He wound up staying past the end of the concert watching the production crew break down the set. “I wanted to know how I could be a part of that,” Phil says.
Jamie Hurley was born in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada. From humble beginnings, he has worked tirelessly in the pursuit of his goals. Mr. Hurley has always been somewhat of a serial entrepreneur, starting his first business before the age of 20. Since then he has owned a diverse group of businesses, including smoothie stores, online directory lead-generation sites in the insurance and mortgage industries, and of course, his current passion, digital marketing. Mr. Hurley has seen this industry transform many times over the last 15 years. He prides himself on always being able to adapt with the times to ensure his clients are at the forefront in the digital ad space.
Kristin Marszalek is based outside of Chicago. She began working for Jamie Hurley many years ago as his Executive Assistant and has followed his business endeavors ever since! Kristin is the head of our Social Media Department and manages a team of writers and growth and engagement specialists and is an expert in customer relations and communications. Hootsuite certified, she focuses on growing the visibility of a client, product, tour or event on a local and national level. Kristin manages social networks using cross channel strategies. Developing and implementing marketing strategies to grow followers, drive traffic to your website, and build brand awareness. When she’s not working she’s spending time with her 4 year old son building Legos and playing Superheroes!!
Michael Shelley was raised in Thousand Oaks, CA and recently graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Communication Studies. Michael first began his career in entertainment with an internship at a fashion PR company, assisting in their designer showroom. From there, he landed an internship with none other than Lobeline Communications where he began learning the ins and outs of entertainment public relations. Upon graduating, Michael explored other avenues of the industry before settling back at home with Lobeline where he now works in hand in hand with both our PR and social media teams.
Fresh in PR, Valenditro Mathiew is a recent college graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. With a public relations major, he is passionate in learning the ins and outs of the entertainment PR industry in LA and contributes to Lobeline Communications. Valenditro has experiences in handling social media and has passion in photography as well as videography.
Monica brings over 17 years of diverse and invaluable experience in publicity and promotion to Lobeline Communications. Where, among other projects, she specializes in our touring division with key family attraction accounts such as the World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions Tour, the Spanish Riding School of Vienna and Blue Man Group.
Monica began her career as a Promotion Director for the Ice Capades and Harlem Globetrotters Tours. On the road 365 days of the year and marketing over 80 shows a year, Monica developed a series of unique campaigns suited to individual markets, while working with national tour sponsors including Paramount Studios, Coca Cola, McDonalds and Continental Airlines. Monica’s experience also lead her to managing the domestic and international live performances of then popular situation comedy star Marc Price (Skippy from Family Ties), promoting a tour for best selling author Monty Roberts, consumer events for multiple home and garden shows, motor sports enthusiasts expos, and events involving Turner Networks, CNN, and Mervyns California. Additionally she worked on film projects a “Race to Witch Mountain,” “Casino Royale,” “Monsters vs. Aliens” and more.
